Prioritizing Individual and Organizational Wellbeing

The Department of Pediatrics and the Office of Faculty Development is delighted to encourage you to participate in a department-wide wellness workshop (flyer), led by our guest speaker:
Catherine F. Pipas, MD, MPH
Professor, Community & Family Medicine,The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice (TDI) and Dept. of Medical Education, Geisel School of Medicine, Dartmouth
Physician wellness is crucial for a healthy department and is critical for safe, effective, and empathetic patient care and for creative, innovative scholarly pursuits. Pipas led a year-long training program for wellness champions from each of the pediatric divisions, who designed and initiated wellness programs within their divisions. This workshop will provide an overview of many of the topics presented during that year long training, including:
- The importance of the journey toward wellbeing for health professionals
- Self reflection utilizing narrative medicine
- Evidence based wellness strategies
- Frameworks for organizational wellbeing
- Showcase of divisions’ wellness initiatives

The Doris Duke Fund to Retain Clinical Scientists (DDFRCS) Program provides innovative institutional solutions to reduce faculty attrition by assisting junior faculty facing extra professional demands. The DDFRCS provides broad-based education to raise awareness and implement new interventions, resources and mentoring to support junior faculty facing extra professional challenges.

Maleewan Kitcharoensakkul grew up in Khon Kaen, a town in Northeastern Thailand. She is the youngest of six siblings. IT News
Washington University’s Microsoft 365 accounts are getting an upgrade! The new license will include dial-in numbers for Teams meetings for faculty and staff, enhanced security capabilities and Power BI Pro for faculty and staff via access request process.
- Dial-in numbers: Faculty and staff will be able to call into Teams meetings via a phone number located in the meeting invitation, instead of using the Teams app on a mobile device or computer.
- Enhanced security: WashU plans to deploy features from Defender for Office 365, starting with Safe Links, Safe Attachments and Enhanced Edge Filtering. It will be a phased rollout and will include testing.
- Power BI Pro (data visualization tool): Only faculty and staff who currently have access to Power BI will have access once the upgraded licenses are assigned. There are plans to develop a Power BI information page on data.wustl.edu and a video on data use practices for Learn@Work.
