Protecting our patients’ health information has become increasingly challenging as security threats escalate.

“All WUSM staff, faculty and students should continue encrypting all outbound emails containing sensitive information (PHI, PII, Credit Card Numbers, SSN, etc.) Email encryption can be activated by typing [SECURE] into the subject line using work email (@wustl.edu). This enables encryption of the contents of the email. The recipient is provided a link that guides them through the process of registration and how to access the email.
