Leadership Development Program 2023
The Office of Faculty Development is offering the 11th Leadership Development Program beginning Feb. 2, 2023. Anyone interested in participating should contact their division director.
The goals of this program are to enhance successful leadership characteristics and to identify the implications and impact of leadership and communication styles. The Leadership Development Program is seeking faculty who are eager to development and enhance their leadership skills, abilities, and style for their current and future leadership roles. The program is also open to employees in current leadership positions, including nurse managers, clinical directors and research administrators.
Program topics will include:
- Clarifying roles
- WUSM/SLCH relationship
- Social styles
- Resiliency and self-care
- Professionalism
- Managing change
- Authentic and courageous communication
- DE&I cultural competence
The ten sessions program will begin on Feb. 2, 2023, and end in May 2023. The sessions will be held every Thursday via Zoom, with occasional breaks based on speaker availability. The schedule is being finalized and will be provided when available. The sessions include both didactic and practical exercises and are generally one and one-half hour in length and begin at 7:30 a.m.

Abigail Kissel, MD
Abby Kissel, MD, grew up right here in St. Louis (University City), with WashU undergrad and medical school always in her orbit. The undergrad campus was practically in her backyard and was where her oldest (of three) sisters went to college, and her second oldest sister attended law school. The medical campus is where her father trained and practiced internal medicine early in his career and where her mother and third oldest sister worked in nursing and education. IT news
WashU IT implemented Office 365 email impersonation protection for pilot participants on Oct. 20.
This new feature displays safety tips in your email when the service detects that additional review should be done before responding to the email, opening attachments or clicking links. Examples of scenarios where a safety tip may be displayed include:
- The email address of the sender is similar but not the same as an email address with which you regularly correspond
- The email domain (characters after the @) is similar but not the same as the WashU email domains (such as @wusdtl.edu vs. @wustl.edu)
Safety tips appear below the sender information in the body of the email.
Note: Are you anticipating receipt of an email but you can’t find it?
Check your Junk folder. Potentially impersonated email may be moved there.
Please use these safety tips to help identify and report potentially malicious actors using the Phish Alert Button (PAB).
